Question:Alternative Travel Technology Possibilities?

Do you have any questions for me?

I have a question,

Couldn't  we be given assistance not just in developing new energy unit technology for our automobiles, but be given assistance in alternatives to the automobiles themselves?
Shouldnt it be possible to produce something such as the "Hoverboard" featured in the popular "Back To The Future" movies or other means of transportation that could substantially replace the use of the automobile?
Perhaps some member of the Earth Human Race has already invented technology that has been held back from public view and use in order to maintain our dependance on what some make profit from? Would the Capricon crew be able to divulge and make public that which may have been hidden if asked?

Or if someone had some concept of a mechanical wheel inside a wheel clockwork type platform that could neutralize the weak gravity force could the Capricon crew, which presumably would be familiar with the physics involved, be free to assist with tweaks that would make such ideas viable and produceable?

It would be wonderful if we could reduce the amount of paved surface and allow greenery and flowers and children playgrounds or adult rest and recreation facilities to be implimented in the common spaces that network our nieghborhoods and cities.

The new energy sources could still be used in our homes and businesses thus opening vast areas up to more secluded living but it seems to me the very method of travelling needs to be rethought without having to go back to galloping horses except by choice of those who thrill to such method.

Re: Question:Alternative Travel Technology Possibilities?

I think Helena would be very surprised to discover just how many of us do actually care very much about our envirnoment and the awful things we, the people of earth, are doing to it. It is not always for the want of trying. Just how do you get through to politicians, who are clearly in the pockets of industrialists, that enough is enough? Just how do you instigate a response amongst a population which generally wants to raise it's so-called standard of living, without going through any of the pain of change that will be required if this objective is to be achieved in an environmentally sound way. In UK we are currently debating the best means of dealing with our nuclear waste. Thousands of tonnes of it are waiting "safe" disposal, but what to do with it. Favourite solution at the moment is to bury it thousands of feet underground in deep shafts in stable ground. But what ground is going to be stable for the necessary millenia? Who knows what tumultuous times lie ahead. What are we going to inflict on future generations? What awful legacy are we going to leave for any future civilisation that follows the demise of our own? And, with all this in mind, the British government is actively considering the expansion of the nuclear option as an alternative to fossil fuel power generation. No decision has been made yet (apparently), but it is imminent.

If there is one request I would ask of Helena tonight - and, Hal, if you do read this forum, please consider putting it to her - it would be for urgent help in permanently and safely disposing, once and for all, of our nuclear waste materials of all categories. Perhaps they could stick it on a shuttle and toss it into the sun, or perhaps they even have a treatment process to render it safe. Who knows, but we need help in this matter and soon. Otherwise our current crop of idiot leaders are going to get us even deeper in the mire. hmm

Now that's the best idea I've heard of so far.  I don't like the idea of burying it underground.  With our future generations, who knows how that will play out.  I'd rather have it shipped off world altogether.  Is this possible?  If, in fact, our star friends really want to help with our environmental crisis, I can only hope that they can and would.  Who knows?  smile

That being asked, I can't help but wonder if we're still locking ourselves into the matrix and seeing solutions only by way of our 3D experience.  Kudos to scientists and inventors, but are we not still relying on man made technology to solve our problems?  I guess you have to start somewhere, but man is capable of SOOOOO much more, such as the power of our own thoughts to solve our problems. We're still living in the dark ages.  O.K. I'm a dreamer...just a thought...smile
